You live in Lausanne and you don’t know what to do on your weekends? I might have found the perfect activity: “Crime en ville”!
On a recent October Sunday afternoon I spent 4 hours walking up and down the city of Lausanne with a group of 4 random people I just met a few minutes before, trying to resolve a (fictional) murder, and I loved it!
Crime en ville, or Crime in the city in English, is an interactive experience taking place in Switzerland, in a pre-defined city, where teams of 4 to 5 people become crime investigators for a few hours, trying to resolve a fictive crime enigma within a set time frame and with the help of clues provided by the organisers at the start of the game. Along the way, the teams will meet fictional characters played by real-life comedians who will help them resolve the perpetrated crime by sharing tell-tale signs (…or misleading them in the wrong direction…;-)).
This very playful concept has existed in the UK and the US for several years, but has only recently been making its way in Switzerland. The one I participated in was created by a legal expert from Basel (German-speaking part of Switzerland) back in 2016.
These real-life cluedo murder mystery games are organised throughout the year, so if you’re looking for an entertaining way to spend your Saturday or Sunday afternoon, look no further! They even do entire crime investigation weekends in a pre-defined hotel. Who knows, I might give it a try…
And you, keen on trying this new experience out? Would love to hear your thoughts!
