How to create an elegant but affordable flower bouquet ?

Dernière mise à jour : 18 mars 2024

I love flowers! They are that extra something perfecting a decor or a nice gift for the “hostess with the mostest”.  But a nice flower arrangement can sometimes be rather expensive (especially here in Switzerland)… Fear no more! I’ve found the ideal solution, enabling you to get beautiful bouquets for a very reasonable price (if you live in or around Lausanne that is)!

You know how I love discovering new spots, abroad or in my home country?! The other day I came across the most adorable flower picking spot. It’s in the middle of the countryside, about 30 minutes by car from Lausanne. I mean, it’s sooo adorable. I kinda hesitated to share this secret with you, knowing it wouldn’t stay a secret for too long after this 😉😉

Mille Et Une Fleurs”, that’s the name of the place, has been created by two local farmers with a taste for simple but nice things. It’s a self-service garden where you can create your very own and personalised flower bouquet by picking amongst the broad variety of flowers cultivated in this garden. Roses, peonies, lavender or eucalyptus, you’ll find something for every taste, every budget and every occasion (hello wedding bouquet)!

And when you’re done flower picking, stop for a moment to relax in their quaint little greenhouse. Grab a cup, pour some hot water and go snag some herbs in the nearby small herb garden to make your very own home-made tea. A little slice of paradise!

The good thing about this self-service garden? It’s open 24/7 and throughout the year! So of course, between October and March you won’t find a lot of flowers. But if you are simply looking to unwind from the daily hustle and bustle, grab a good book or your favourite Spotify playlist and cosy up in one of the greenhouse’s comfy chair.

Enjoy! And if you visit this “secret” spot, I’d love to hear your feedback 🙂
